LOSING SOMEONE SPECIAL

When we lose a loved one, trying to deal with the pain and loss alone can be tough. We can be left feeling sad, isolated, helpless, disorganised, even angry. Here at I.M.P.A.C.T Northeast we provide help and support for people who have or are experiencing bereavement, proving an opportunity to meet others who have been in similar situations.

WHAT WE OFFER

Our Bereavement Support Group meets at I.M.P.A.C.T Northeast offices. The group mainly runs on a Wednesday 5pm-6pm. We do offer specific short-term group on different days and times of the week so that those who can’t get to one particular time are always able to get to a group without waiting too long. However, this is based on interested.  The group is facilitated by experienced bereavement support workers. Each group has a maximum of eight members so it always feels small enough to be supportive. The group covers different aspect of the bereavement process based on the groups stages of bereavement.

We also cover tips and techniques for dealing with those different aspects of loss that have been shown to be helpful for bereaved people.

If you feel that this group may be right for you, please call us on 0191 367 0105 for more information and we can tell you when the next groups are running. We ask everyone who wants to come to the group to have a meeting with one of our trained and qualified counsellor to assess their needs accurately and to make sure they are guided to the best service for themselves including the Bereavement Support Group, counselling or other types of support. You will find our bereavement support workers are passionate and resourceful.

Group members tell us that being with others who have experienced a bereavement is supportive and has helped members to cope with their grief.
